Coronavirus has resulted in countries shutting their border for health reasons and even after health issues related to virus recede there is going to be lot of suspicion amongst travelers further isolating nations.

Businesses will look for alternate supply chains and make nations look inward. This will make the world economy more political and nationalistic.

To run high-tech companies, there will be requirement of qualified people. India and China are power houses when comes to churning out engineers and doctors. The advanced countries will need them and welcome their entry.

Human rights awareness, political rights, environmental and global health issues have taken center stage in human consciousness and simply cannot be wished away. These issues will continue uniting the world.

World trade has to be global for rich countries to sell their products to third world countries were majority of the young population reside. The demand for products will only happen if there is purchasing power in these countries. Rich countries simply cannot live and thrive in isolation. They will need to support the economies and growth world over through enlightened policies. In other words, strengthening the forces of globalization.

Nothing in the world can reverse exchange of ideas due to internet connectivity or flow of capital to any place in the world where profits are to be made.

Economic impact of coronavirus not withstanding globalization is irreversible. There can be Trumps or minor road blocks along the way but the march of the world will continue towards globalization.

The only solution for the people who feel threatened by globalization is to go back to the drawing board, get re-educated and re-invent themselves to face the challenges in this technologically driven fast changing world.

If they fail to do this then they will be an extinct species like the dinosaurs.

Why is the world so divided today? We are either pro-Trump or anti-Trump, liberal or anti-liberal, Brexit or anti-Brexit, globalization or nationalist, environmentalist or think global warming is a hoax.

Only a decade back centrist parties where in power world over. Far right and extreme left were always in the fringes and no one could get elected if they were not somewhere near the center. Policies even in capitalist economies were generally right of the center but never extreme. The world movement was towards globalization and we lived in a far more tolerant world.

Gone are the days when left and extreme right parties were found in the fringes. Centrist parties and views have all faded and the world at present has swung either extreme right or leftist with likes of Bernie Sanders calling for a total revolution for those who have missed the bus in this rabidly evolving technological world.

Are the politicians to be blamed or there is something more sinister happening.

Politicians always used fear and divisions in society to gain votes, there is nothing new to here!

Unfortunately, after a decade some of the measures were in place even after a decade as revealed by Snowden who is now exiled Russia for revealing state secrets.

Our political views and lifestyle choices today are unfortunately being dictated by unscrupulous businesses and politicians. Privacy of the personal data being misused for shaping our views is the biggest problem facing us all today.

Our opinions are being shaped and divided. The cohesive fabric of the society is being torn and divided. Unfortunately, there is little or no debate on this very vital issue that is affecting us all today.
